ETFE (F-40) is formed by copolymerizing tetrafluoroethylene and ethylene in the ratio of 1:1 and is made by DuPont Co., Ltd. and Asahi Glass Co., Ltd. ETFE (F-40) is mainly applied to anti-corrosion liners. The material has the corrosion resistance of polytetrafluoroethylene and a peculiar high property of adhesion to metal and overcomes the defect that tetrafluoroethylene does not adhere to metal, and the average linear expansion coefficient of ETFE (F-40) is approximate to the linear expansion coefficient of carbon steel. Therefore, the material become an ideal material compounded with metal, and has extremely high negative pressure resistance.
